Mission

1. The Centre for Health Informatics is committed to pursuing research and educational activities that:

  • Lead the way, producing and distributing world-class research in the development and application of information and communication technologies (ICT)
  • Provide training and development opportunities to build up Australian expertise
  • Foster the development of a national consensus on the key research problems deserving attention
  • Encourage the use of robust research and development methodologies

2. Through a series of demonstration projects we seek to:
  • Practically demonstrate how appropriate solutions can be developed in healthcare using ICT
  • Demonstrate the value of ICT in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare delivery.

3. The Centre is committed to commercialising its key technologies and systems to exploit the intellectual capital of the Centre and its partners, and to use the revenue generated to develop a sustainable basis for its future research and educational activities.
