’Facebook’ meets ‘Google’ - Exciting Opportunities in Consumer Informatics
The Centre for Health Informatics is Australia’s largest internationally recognised academic Health Informatics research group conducting fundamental and applied research focusing on the design, evaluation and application of decision-support technologies for healthcare and the biosciences. The Centre is multidisciplinary with considerable opportunity to work with domain experts and acquire new knowledge.
The Centre is developing a high profile national clinical evidence web service to support consumer and clinician access to health information, based upon its own, as well as state-of-the-art web technologies. Web applications will assist users search for and share information, using Web 2.0 principles including social computing methods, user-generated content (wikis) and web map applications.
The Centre is seeking three experienced individuals for the following positions:
- Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow, Level B or C
- Research Fellow, Level B
- Software Engineer, Level 8/9
The base salaries for the positions are as follows:
- Academic Level B: $71,779 - $84,618
- Academic Level C: $87,182 - $100,022
- General Level 8/9: $71,446 - $88,112
Levels B and C include a superable UNSW academic loading of $3,000 per annum payable to academic staff. The commencement level for all positions will depend on qualifications and experience. In addition, up to 17% employer superannuation contribution plus leave loading is payable.
These positions are full time and are for a fixed term appointment of 2 years, with the possibility of extension. Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment. Successful applicants may be required to undertake a criminal record check.
This opportunity offers much flexibility in supporting individual career development, including the commencement of new initiatives. A part-time appointment may be considered.
